Friday DIY Roundup #18

Friday, June 5, 2015

It's that time of the week again, the time to craft our hearts out. It's the last Friday of the year for those of us still in school in CJ or the surrounding areas. I cannot wait for the last day, and I just have to dsay that this little part of the school year taking place in June is my very favorite part of the school year, no matter what. Completing the very last assignments, planning the last day and the ice cream social, waiting for the best day ever- the last day of school. That's what I've been doing, at least. And if you're already out or are planning to get out, or have already graduated, or even if you have no idea what I'm talking about, then here are some DIYs to fill your Friday night and upcoming weekend with. Craft on!

Chalky Finish Paint_desk makeover1. Hungry Hungry Caterpillar Crochet by The Whoot

2. DIY Watercolor Party Hats by Style Me Pretty

3. Desk Makeover with Chalk Paint (as shown in photo) by My Sister's Suitcase

4. Vintage Teapot Sewing Box by Sadie's Season Goods

5. Wire Word Rings by Small Good Things

6. DIY Upcycled Map Coasters by POP Sugar

7. Color Blocked Clay Coasters by A Beautiful Mess

I have always wondered how to make words out of wire and then magically transform them into jewelry... Huh. You learn something new every day. What was your favorite DIY on this list, and which one will you try this weekend? Tell me in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

The Get to Work Book

While browsing Bloglovin' late at night a few days ago, I came across a favorites post by ABM (you can read it here) and a picture caught my eye. It appeared to be some sort of notebook- I liked it already. Upon further inspection, it appeared to be a Get to Work Book, a special planner that is very motivational and simply fabulous. I even asked for one for my birthday, for I had fallen in love with it after watching a short video that you can view here. I loved how you could keep everything so organized, and how different it was from a regular planner, and just how perfect it was for a creative person like myself with so many things to do and so much time to do it in- painting, blogging, writing, organizing every square inch of my house. Also, it goes from July 2015- June 2016; my birthday is on July 8, so if I get it, everything will work out perfectly.

Whoever designed this thing just did the best job EVER. It has calendar pages that are perforated so that you can tear them out an hang them as wall prints! It's an inch thick (that's a big book!) and all of the monthly tabs are uber-sturdy. And the very best of all, everything is 100% recycled!!! The back cover has a little folder for the little things you need to hold, and the paper stock is totally Sharpie-friendly; she shows you in the video, which you really must watch. I want this thing like I've never wanted anything before.

The Get To Work Book is only $55 and you can order one here. I REALLY hope I get this for my birthday... Don't you want one now? What do you think of it? Tell me in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
