These are some essentials that I feel I must have in order to blog in an organized and successful way. I find that it makes a lot of things easier, and that you MUST have them.
1. A Notebook/Journal
I find that a notebook is perfect for keeping track of ideas for posts, post deadlines, and all kinds of things that you can post. It doesn't have to be one journal for that subject; you can combine multiple subjects into one, like an ideas journal; that's what I have. I can record all of my ideas for things to look up, books to read, things to post, etc. Trust me- journaling helps!
2. Blog Address Cards
Blog address cards are PERFECT when you don't want to spend away all of your money on online advertising. Sure, that helps, but blog address cards are more personal and you can make 10 of them in about 10 seconds. Simply keep them in your pocket and give them to those who want to read your blog! I can't go a day without them, they are so easy to have. Simply cut up a sticky note and write your blog address on them! How can you NOT?
3. Pinterest (optional :3)
This is optional but highly recommended if you have a DIY or cooking blog. In case you haven't made one already, Pinterest accounts are easy and free to make. It is barely social media, considering how safe it is, all you do is enter a key word and you have multiple ideas and photos! Where do you think I get all my Pinterest Picks from?
4. Pages/Tabs on Blog
Pages/tabs on your blog are PERFECT! You need at least a Contact page and an About Me page. I know that seems like a whole lot to write, but you don't even need to update it often- it is simply a place to show people your email and Pinterest username, and who you are. 5. A "Follow Me" Button (and other gadgets!)
These are perfect for people who want to gain more followers on Google+ and Pinterest. You can add these as a gadget- to learn how to add a gadget to your blog, just click here! There are so many to choose from, from a calendar to a "Popular Posts" button (which I have!) to a Google+ follow button! These are perfect for those looking for a finishing touch to their blog.
