Organize Your Life Series: The Bedroom

Monday, January 5, 2015

This is the second post in the Organize Your Life series, on how to organize your bedroom. I hope it helps c:

1. First, pick up any dirty clothes and put them either in a basket/hamper or a pile to bring into the laundry room. This should really make a dent, it's usually what I do first.

2. Now, grab any cosmetics (lip gloss, nail polish, cosmetic brushes, powder, etc). Put the brushes into something such as a Mason jar (they're cute & convenient) or any other brush-holding-thing you have. Nail polish, instead of being stuffed in a drawer, are great for putting on display- simply by either lining them all up next to each other, or by hot gluing a candle jar onto a stand and placing them inside. Lip gloss can also go into a jar.

3. Stack any books/notebooks you have on the top of your dresser or nightstand. Now, take a jar (I realize I use jars a lot), fill it with something decorative (flowers, nautical rope, etc), and use it as a bookend.

4. Time to DONATE TO CHARITY! Whilst cleaning out my closet, I found so many things that I didn't need (or that I had grown out of) and donated 6 bags of clothes & shoes. Simply grab a paper bag and donate anything that you know you will never really wear, and it's not worth keeping. **TIP**: Turn all of the hangers in your closet backwards. When you take something out and wear it, put it back in facing forwards. At the end of the year, donate anything that's still facing backwards.

5. Hang up a calendar! Wouldn't it be great waking up knowing what day it is? If you're into reading your daily horoscope, get a horoscope calendar corresponding to what you are (for example, I'm a cancer). Get a regular calendar to write down important dates, such as appointments and such.. BONUS: Get one with cute puppies on it. Cute puppies are always great.

6. Make your bed. Nothing fancy, simply smooth out the bedspread and fluff the pillows a little.

7. Finally, pick up anything remaining on the floor/out of place and put it where it belongs.

You're done! Comment below whether or not it helped. Thanks for reading. xoxo
