Blogging is no longer a relatively new thing- so there are so many blogs out there right now that sometimes it's hard for your own blog to stand out a little bit, and rise above the others. But with the right stuff on your blog, it'll become unique and so much different from other blogs that it'll rise above other people that don't have what you have. Blogging is different for everyone- everyone has learned and has little tips and tricks to be successful. Here are my tips that I've learned about how to stand out in a sea of blogs. I know it's only 2, but these will make a world of difference.
- Develop your own voice. Unless your blog is strictly a research blog, then write as if you're having a conversation with someone, and use that as your writing style. Be a little comedic, it helps. Be relatable- you aren't the only one that ate the last cookie last night, and we understand that it wasn't your fault that you ate 6 pounds of cheese this morning. Keep a conversational tone when you write, because when you keep it as real as possible it makes you more approachable and personal.
- Only write about what YOU are passionate about. If you're doing a tutorial on something you definitely wouldn't use yourself, then that's not good- write about something you'd use yourself or something you would actually do. If you love poetry, write about poetry. Don't talk about the art of growing tomatoes if you hate tomatoes because they are squishy and weird- because you hate tomatoes and you aren't passionate about that.
So, what do you think makes a blog stand out? Tell me below and maybe I'll write about it. Thanks for reading :)
xx Savannah
