Why You Should Read Other People's Blogs As a Blogger

As a blogger and a person of blogging, I read blogs- every day. There are different blogs I read every once in a while, depending on what's on my mind- I could be feeling inspired, creative, or- I get this the most- I could just have blogger's block. But if you are also a blogger and are wondering about how reading other blogs could benefit your blogging career and experience, well then, I made this list for you. It's a rainy Saturday afternoon and I feel like I want to give someone a reason to bog- and here it is. 

1. Leaving comments on other blogs can gain you traffic- it's simply free advertising. When you leave a comment on a blog, you leave your blog address; other people will read your comment and want more, thus going to your blog. Even the host of your favorite blog will probably read your blog- see how famous you're getting? Leave comments- and not just little ones, show your appreciation. Do a paragraph if you really liked the post, and don't be offended if they don't reply; us bloggers are busy. 

2. They can give you oh-so-much inspiration. I can guarantee you that there is more than one blog post of yours whose idea was derived from a blog you constantly read. If you're all out of ideas and need some help brainstorming, browse Bloglovin and read a couple of posts- the ideas will flow right in and greet you with "Well then, write about me!!". Blogs are inspiring, don't think you can do this all on your own- because you can't, really. 

3. Other blogs can very often provide you with great opportunities. For example, there are soo many that I know of that offer advertising on their blog. It can be a tad pricey, but totally worth it if you consider the page views they get. Also, doing a guest post will definitely get you a couple new fans, whether you're the one guest posting or they are. Also, if you email them with a post relevant to their blog or something like that, they could mention you and your website in a post! 

This had better have convinced you that I'm right and you should read other blogs because if it doesn't, I don't know what will. But who doesn't read blogs? They're interesting, they provide insight and inspiration. Even if you're not a blogger, everyone reads then. Thanks for reading mine :)
