Sunday, May 3, 2015

There are so many bloggers out there (including me) that keep Pinterest boards of blogging tips and are just looking for a blog that offers the best tips. I know a few that post great insight and steps to help you become a better blogger- in case you aren't already interweb famous. There are so many blogs on this subject, though, which is why I made a list of all my favorites. Here they are, along with a link-

1. Blog Clarity has everything you need- from blog posts to e-courses, you can do it all without any blogger voodoo magic.

2. Stay at Home Susie writes about things business related (and blog related) on her blog, including how to get millions of viewers.

3. My Crazy Good Life is living the dream, so she blogs about parenting and how to blog while parenting- doesn't that sound great? I know, her life is crazy good.

4. Kaleidoscope is all about blogging and womanhood- she's all about helping people achieve the full blogging (and life) experience.

5. A Beautiful Exchange blog has some of the best tips that I've ever read and I simply love them more than anything- I know this is the last one, but I highly recommend it.

Friday Favorites: Sweet Treats & Drinks

Friday, May 1, 2015

Happy May 1st! I have a huge sweet tooth, which is why one of my favorite hobbies is browsing the "sweet treats" section of ABM's recipes- they have some amazing stuff in there, I recommend spending your free time (if your sweet tooth is as big as mine) checking out their insanely appetizing recipes. These are all of my favorite sweet things to eat, and some of them, I rarely actually get to eat- but I'm still in love with them, because a long distance relationship actually does work when it comes to candy & sweet things :)

Simple Blog Post Generator

There are soooo many blog post generators out there, and I must admit, I've had at least a bit of luck with them. Everyone that I've tried has rewarded me with a couple of good posts, and after reviewing complicated ones that have a button, I decided to make my own where you just fill in the blanks. I've got a bunch of templates that you can use for whichever topic you may be blogging about- just remember to fix the grammar of the title before posting, haha. All you have to do is fill in the first blank space with a number of your choice (preferably small, between 1-20). Then, fill in the second space with whatever you choose to blog about (e.g. DIY, recipes, photography, etc.), or simply what fits into the template comfortably. Wherever it says -day of the week-, put in whatever day it is (Friday, Monday, Wednesday, etc.).

___ Ways to Make _________

___ Common Myths About _________

-day of the week- _____ Roundup

___ Tips About _______

How to Make ________

Those are all the templates I have for now, and if you liked these, leave a comment below and I'll probably post more later :) Thanks for reading!

5 Myths About DIYs

While browsing the crafty side of Pinterest, a lot of people automatically assume crazy things that get passed on and turned into myths. These myths get passed around via social media, and because of these myths, people don't try the DIY because ONE person decided to make an untrue assumption about it- but no one can prove this person wrong because no one has yet to try the craft due to the myth scaring them off. There are a couple of myths floating around about DIYs and, thus the name, they are all very false. I'm writing this post to point out those myths so that you are no longer terrified to try out that uber cute faux leather clutch and all those other things on your "If I Was Crafty I'd Do This" board. If you browse my Pinterest page, you know that board is mine :)

Heart, Decoration, Love, Luck, Romantic, Abstract1. You need a ton of equipment. This is very untrue, because a lot of crafts only need a glue gun and a hole puncher. If you don't have either of those things, that's okay, because you can borrow from a friend; they're are pretty cheap at your local craft store.

2. It has to be done alone. Not necessarily; look for a buddy willing to help you out, you won't be lonely and the process will most likely go quicker.

3. It's not hard. Don't get swept up in a fun weekend of you and a friend having a ton of fun repainting some cabinets and having it done and amazing; you are going to get dirty and will most likely hammer your finger into a wall, so don't just assume it's that easy.

4. It takes no time at all. Keep in mind, if you watch a lot of DIY shows, TV has a fast forward button. No, it doesn't take 10 minutes to completely paint a house. Remember that this might take a while, and you most likely won't get it all done in one day, depending on the craft.

5. It's too expensive. Not true at all- sewing projects and simple things like that are easily very cheap, because you don't need all that fabric (just buy a scrap, or a yard if it's a big project). Just buy all that you need from Michael's or someplace like that and it won't cost more than a penny from your pocket.

Those are most of the commonly known myths about DIYs that gets a lot of people thinking weird things. Thanks for reading, I hope this has inspired you to get crafty this weekend!
