5 Ways to Clear Your Mind After School
Tuesday, September 13, 2016
After school, I don't know about you, but all I want is a glass of iced coffee and a nap (two completely opposite things, I know). But sometimes, if you just have the worst headache from school, and you want to get your mind off of everything, there are a few more things you can do.
1. Like I said above, take a nap. Your sleep schedule has probably been completely been thrown off from summer, and a good nap can really throw everything back into balance. Plus, I took a nap in the car today (haven't done that in a while) and it was the best thing since shaved ice last weekend.
2. Blogging! If you're a person who takes pleasure in writing and is usually already on their computer too much already, then clearing your mind in the form of a couple of keystrokes can really help. Plus, it gives you something to do before and after school if you don't feel like doing homework but your parents are gonna yell at you if you watch one more episode of Grey's Anatomy...
3. Take a walk. The weather is getting colder, which is all the better to throw on a comfy sweater and a hand-knit scarf and just get outside. I don't get to go out much anymore with the 8+ hours I spend at school, plus the sun going down earlier, PLUS the homework, so try to walk your dogs as soon as you get home from school or as soon as you wake up in the morning. I like noticing the weather changing, and how the sun starts going down earlier- and it's good to take a break from my phone & computer for a couple minutes.
4. Take up a new hobby. I started knitting March 2015, and it's so relaxing. Just curl up in your bed with a season of your favorite show and start knitting, crocheting, drawing, embroidering, etc! Sports aren't the only option. Don't give up on your hopes of art because you're "not good enough"- there's no such things as "not good enough" in art. I highly recommend knitting, if I haven't made that clear enough!
5. Adopt a new pet. This is a very difficult thing to do when school is starting, especially because you won't be able to care for it very much when you won't be spending a lot of time at home, but it's something to look forward to when you wake up and get home from school. And besides, who can't resist an adorable little puppy or kitten? I love my cat and dogs more than anything, they help so much when I'm sick of reading for two hours straight.
Good luck everyone, students and adults alike, who are being weighed down by studying, homework, work, etc. I hope these help, and don't forget to follow me on Instagram @savannahbby_14 :)

5 Ways to Have the Most Relaxing Day Ever
Wednesday, April 6, 2016
Last week, I published a post about how to have the most relaxing bath ever- but why focus on one little bath when you can go all out and post about the whole day? Consider this the ultimate guide to being relaxed~
-First of all, this relaxing day needs to happen on a day where you don't have to work or go to school or get up and go someplace at all- this day is Sunday. Sunday mornings are the most relaxing things ever (according to science, of course), and you don't have to worry about going out that night or going shopping that day or staying up late, like Saturdays. I LOVE Sundays soooo much.
-Now you need the essentials. This is a list of things you can't have a lazy day without~
-Magazines- Teen Vogue, Vogue, People and any other fashion or celebrity gossip magazines work well, unless you're more of a Nat Geo person.
-Comfort food; diets aren't very relaxing (but I guess you don't have to follow this rule if you don't want to.....) This will consist of Doritos, Oreos, Fritos, Chips Ahoy and cheesecake for desert!
-Either a laptop or a TV, either will do, also iPads (or any other tablets for that matter) and your phone will work well. How else are you gonna Tweet about how relaxed you are while catching up on Grey's Anatomy on Netflix?
-A cuppa tea will do you some good. If you're living in a hot climate, then iced tea will work wonderfully, but if you're like me and it's cold 75% of the year then a hot cuppa black tea it is.
-YOUTUBE MARATHON! Once you start getting sick of Netflix (as if) then you basically just watch every single video in your subscription box. If you're like me, then you're too busy all week to have time to watch YouTube except for one or two vlogs, so there's basically a week or more's worth of videos waiting to be watched.
-Remember what I said above about having a cuppa tea? Well, I take that back, because not everyone has tea on hand (let alone LIKES tea), so if that's the case then pop over to your local Starbucks/Dutch Bros/favorite coffee shops for a latte, then grab an iced drink, too and put it in the fridge for later because no one should have to leave the house more than once on a lazy day.
-To wind down your day, have a spa night! This is the best thing ever, just grab everything you need: Lush everything, nail polish, face mask, etc. and a movie playing in the background (my spa pick of the week: Legally Blonde!!!). Pamper yourself- you'll thank me.
Finally, fall asleep with a cat by your side, watching Legally Blonde 2, knowing that you had the best day ever and that you can now tackle the stressful week ahead of you.

How to Take a Truly Serene Bath
Monday, March 28, 2016
A hot, calming bath at the end (or beginning) of a long day, week or even month is possibly the greatest feeling on the face of the planet (besides wearing warm pants fresh out of the dryer, obviously). And I know some people are just starting Spring Break, where they'll have the whole week to relax, and others have just finished it (like myself), but if you're just getting back into work then what better time for a nice bath!
-You need, of course, the essentials- and by that I mean Lush bath bombs. These are really quite pricey, and if you've bought one you know that- but you will also know that they are luxurious. They are soooooooo amazing. One of the most popular ones right now is "The Experimenter", and some people say it makes them feel like they're sitting in a Van Gogh painting.

-Now, a sweet cuppa tea will do you some good- it's better than coffee because it's just so much more relaxing, and has half the caffeine. If it's nighttime, and chances are it is, then some chamomile with honey is absolutely perfect. But if you're a morning bath person, then black tea (my personal favorite is Prince of Wales by Twinings) will wake you right up with the soothing flavors I'm used to every morning.
-Next, you're gonna want to get either an iPad, tablet, laptop or any other kind of big screen that isn't a TV (unless you have a TV in your bathroom, which in that case, I praise you) and set it up somewhere that it will NOT get wet or have any chances of falling in the water or getting splashed. I put mine on top of the toilet on the water tank thingamajig (seriously what is it even called) and it won't fall or anything. Now you can finally binge watch Fuller House!!!!!
-FACE MASK TIME! We're just pretty much going full out spa now. Again, you can get a really nice one from lush that will make you feel amazing, but other cosmetic companies sell them, too- I love the one that has an animal on it so that when you put it on you look like a puppy <3 b="">3>
So, at the end of the week, after lots of hard work (or probably just watching Netlfix on the couch for so long your butt is starting to hurt) you deserve a soothing, serene bath. Just don't forget the bubbles!! *bubble noise that fish from Finding Nemo makes*
