How to Stay Motivated

Thursday, March 3, 2016

The number one cause of failed blogs is lack of motivation- they make a blog, they might even spend money on it, but then they just leave it there to slowly die because they think they have nothing to write. The second cause of failed blogs is lack of time, but I'm not gonna talk about that today. Here is how to get motivated and stay motivated~

❝ʏᴏᴜ'ʀᴇ ᴍʏ sᴜɴ❞: -If you've started a blog but haven't really written on it at all yet since you started it, and you started it a month ago so you're slowly getting guiltier and guiltier about it, then that's a problem. First, get all of your materials together- blogging materials. Start a blog board, where you Pin cool stuff for your blog, like free fonts and templates and stock photos. If you have everything you need, you'll be more inspired to blog.

-Read posts about blogging tips. I have an entire board of blogging tips that you can check out here, and there are tons more all over Pinterest and Bloglovin. Elle & Co and Wonderlass have tons, too.

eternally classic: -Make your blog look really fun and pretty- it should look the way you want it to, it's your blog! If it's super good looking and you love the way it turned out, then you'll really want to write on it.

-Design a custom logo. Doing this will make you think of your blog more as a business than a hobby, so you're gonna really want to write more because it's your business you're talking about, not some measly website left to die!

-If you've been blogging for a couple of years now, and aren't just an amateur, but just aren't motivated enough, then take a break. One week, one month, even just one day can make a difference depending on how often you post. This worked for me, I took a week off and now I have a fresh start and am excited to blog again. Take however long you need, but be sure to tell your readers why you're leaving + when you'll be back so that they're not just left in the dust!

I hope this helped you out a little bit, whether you're new to blogging or have been a full-time blogger for years, this should help you out some. I can't wait for tomorrow's DIY roundup!
